Slack Code brings AI coding agents into shared team channels

Slack launched Slack Code, a feature that runs AI coding agents inside a shared team channel instead of a developer's private terminal or IDE. Tag an agent from any Slack conversation and it spins up a dedicated project channel for that task, where teammates can watch the agent work, review proposed changes, check live HTML previews, and redirect or stop it mid-task.
The pitch is collaborative visibility: a product manager or designer can watch a fix land in real time without a ticket or a status meeting. Slack says agents from Anthropic's Claude, Cognition's Devin, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Vercel will work inside Slack Code channels.
For a small team already running Claude Code or Copilot from the terminal, the actual shift here is where review happens, not whether an agent writes the diff. Pulling that review into a channel the whole team already lives in could cut the handoff between an agent finishing a task and someone competent actually looking at it, a gap that causes real production bugs when a solo developer merges an agent's PR without a second set of eyes.
Slack hasn't said which plans include Slack Code, what it costs, or which of the named integrations are live at launch versus coming later. Teams evaluating it should confirm agent availability and pricing directly with Slack before building a workflow around it.
