Meta's Muse Code exits beta with $5-a-month entry plan

Meta has taken Muse Code, its command-line coding agent, out of beta and replaced its pay-as-you-go pricing with three flat monthly subscriptions. Per Meta's announcement, the plans run $5 a month for Everyday Usage, $15 for High Usage, and $50 for Power Usage, with the two higher tiers set at three times and ten times the request allowance of the entry plan. Meta describes the entry tier as covering roughly 10 to 50 agent requests per five-hour window.

The launch comes less than a month after Muse Code first appeared in beta. The previous model charged per token, at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens, dropping to $0.10 and $0.20 on a lower tier that required sending prompt and code data back to Meta.

On paper the pricing lands below the competition. Anthropic bundles Claude Code into its $20 Pro plan and sells $100 and $200 Max tiers; OpenAI's Codex requires at least the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan, with higher limits on $100 and $200 tiers. Direct comparison is awkward, because those competitors meter usage with opaque multipliers rather than a stated request count, while Muse Code now publishes absolute numbers.

The tradeoff is data. Meta's revenue rests on advertising and model training, and its cheapest historical rate was the one that fed user code back into its systems. The paid subscription tiers drop that discount structure, but what Meta retains from agent sessions is worth checking against its current data policy before moving a real codebase onto the tool.
